About The Daughter of the Regiment
A comic opera by Gaetano Donizetti that follows Marie, a spirited young woman who was found as an orphaned baby and lovingly raised by an entire French army regiment as their adopted daughter. She falls in love with Tonio, a local young man, but their happiness is threatened when Marie is claimed by an aristocratic relative who insists she leave her military family behind, learn the manners of high society, and marry a nobleman instead. As hidden truths about Marie's birth come to light, she must choose between social expectations and the people she loves.

This opera will be performed in French, but English subtitles will be projected during the performance.
