The Ballroom & The Attic

Read Local Book Festival is for Readers, Local Utah Authors & Aspiring Authors

The main purpose of this event is to celebrate local Utah authors and give readers a chance to meet these amazing authors. It is also a great way for authors and potential authors to network with each other. 

11:00 - 12:45 PM Author check-in & booth set-up

1:00 - 1:50 PM Keynote in The Nelson Attic: Speakers TBA

2:00 - 4:00 PM Author Booths in The Ballroom: Local author meet & greets and book signings. 

HOW TO PARTICIPATE

If you are an author (traditional or self-published) and you LIVE IN UTAH, please submit an application (on the right) by Monday, August 31st. All genres welcome. 

Authors are provided with one 8-foot banquet style table and two chairs. You are allowed to sell your own books. You are also encouraged to bring tablecloths, signs, flyers, books, activities, giveaways, electronics, another person to help you, or anything else you might need for successful operation of your booth. 

Check-in and set-up is any time between 11:00 AM - 12:45 PM. You are welcome to attend the keynote event at 1:00 or remain with your table. The public will be allowed into the Ballroom beginning at 2:00 PM. 

APPLICATION DEADLINE

The application deadline is Monday, August 31, 2026, after which applications will be reviewed in the order they are received. There are a limited number of spots for this event. Once the spots are full, remaining authors will be placed on a waitlist. Applicants will be contacted by Monday, September 14, 2026 whether they are accepted or on the waitlist.
